Hamilton Transport Centre refresh project

May – October 2024

The Hamilton Transport Centre is getting a refresh!

**Please expect some minor platform changes**
While construction is taking place on the platform, some bus services may need to use different lanes than usual.

Hamilton City Council is leading the project, while working closely with the BUSIT team to help improve safety and create a more modern space for our inner-city passengers.

The 4-5 month project will include new seating and shelter along the bus platform, including sheltered space for people using wheelchairs and prams. A new, larger 24/7 accessible toilet block will be upgraded along with the driveway loop area – plus new e-bike charging, extra CCTV cameras, building glass replacement, new paint for the building interior.

There are no changes to the bus timetable or fares because of the refresh and, while there may be some small disruptions, the Transport Centre will remain fully operational.

NOTE: On-site parking and pick-up/drop-off area may have limited spaces while construction is taking place.

Please be mindful of the construction zones on site, to ensure passengers with wheelchairs and disabilities can move freely, and carers of small children can board and disembark buses safely.
