‘World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion’
Terms and conditions
The World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion period begins at 12:00am on Monday 9 September 2024 and closes 11.59pm on Sunday 22 September 2024. This promotion is coordinated by BUSIT, Te Huia and Flex, on behalf of Waikato Regional Council (WRC).
Entry
The participant enters the World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion in accordance with these Terms and any Promotion Specific Terms below:
To participate in the World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion, the Participant must:
— be aged 16 years or older (as at the commencement of the promotion period);
— be resident in Waikato, New Zealand;
— by entering, the participant agrees that their name maybe be used to make announcements of the winners on social media channels for BUSIT and/or Te Huia.
The participant may only enter the World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion once and additional entries submitted by the participant will be deemed invalid.
Entries for the World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion must be received by BUSIT within the promotion period.
Any entry that:
— is received outside of the promotion period; and/or
— has not been submitted in accordance with these terms and World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion specific terms; and/or
— is otherwise incomplete, incorrect, or illegible will be deemed invalid, at the absolute discretion of BUSIT; and/or
— uses or includes any offensive content; or plagarised content will not be eligible for entry.
Entries are accepted at the time of receipt by Waikato Regional Council and BUSIT. Waikato Regional Council and BUSIT are not liable for any entries not received for any reason.
BUSIT assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
Conditions of entry:
Late entries will not be considered. Any entries deemed as offensive content will not be eligible for entry.
The winners will be selected and notified by Thursday 19 September 2024 via the supplied contact details provided by the entrant. By entering the competition winners agree to their first name being published by the promotional team from BUSIT and/or Te Huia social media channels for publicity purposes.
Specific conditions:
- For TE HUIA entrants;
Enter to win by commenting on Te Huia’s #WCFD2024 post on either Facebook or Instagram. Simply tell us who you’ll take with you on Te Huia to celebrate WCFD.
Only one entry per person. Promotion is open to all Waikato residents aged over 16 years. Entries must be received no later than 11.59pm on Wednesday 18 September 2024. Late entries will not be considered. Any content deemed offensive will not be eligible for entry. Three winners will be selected and contacted on Facebook and two on Instagram – all winners will be contacted directly via Facebook or Instagram messenger. Any associated brands included in the prizes have no official affiliation with WRC. WRC staff are not eligible to enter.
- For BUSIT entrants;
Enter to win by commenting on BUSIT’s #WCFD2024 post on either Facebook or Instagram. Simply tell us who you like to travel with on BUSIT to celebrate WCFD.
Enter as many times as you like. Promotion is open to all Waikato residents aged over 16 years. Entries must be received no later than 11.59pm on Wednesday 18 September 2024. Late entries will not be considered. Any content deemed offensive will not be eligible for entry. Six winners will be selected and contacted on Facebook and four on Instagram – all winners will be contacted directly via Facebook or Instagram messenger. WRC staff are not eligible to enter. Bee Card prize(s) can be collected in person, posted at owner’s risk via standard mail – or $25 credit can be applied to an existing Bee Card.
- SHOW US YOUR BEE CARD – CORPORATE PARTNERS (internal promotion)
Only one entry per person. Open to employees under the age of 65 years from Genesis Energy (Hamilton), Waikato Regional Council and Hamilton City Council only. Entries must be received no later than 11.59pm on Friday 20 September 2024. Late entries will not be considered. Any content deemed offensive will not be eligible for entry. Winners will be contacted directly via mobile phone or email address supplied before Saturday 21 September. Bee Card credit will be applied to existing Bee Card via number supplied by entrant.
Prize(s)
World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion prize(s) are defined as;
TE HUIA
- 5x Double passes for Te Huia
BUSIT
- 10x $25 Bee Cards (6x Facebook and 4x Instagram)
- $25 Bee Card is valued at $30 ($5 for card + $25 credit) OR;
- $25 credit can be applied to an existing Bee Card.
SHOW US YOUR BEE CARD – CORPORATE PARTNERS (internal promotion)
- 10x $25 Bee Card credit (to be applied to an existing Bee Card)
Prize(s) collection
Prize(s) can be collected from the BUSIT Counter at the Hamilton Transport Centre, or delivered by standard mail (at winner’s risk, prizes will not be redelivered if lost). Bee Card credit can be applied to an existing card via Bee Card card number supplied by prize winner - number will be confirmed via direct communication with winner.
Prize winner(s)
The World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion winner(s) shall be determined in the manner set out in the following promotion specific terms;
The prize winner(s) shall be selected by a member of the BUSIT marketing team, and contacted via the contact details provided at the time of entry either via social media, phone or email.
BUSIT reserves the right to determine a new winner(s) where, after three (3) attempts (within 10 business days of the winner being determined), BUSIT has been unable to contact the winner.
The prize(s) must be taken as offered, cannot be redeemed for cash and is neither transferable nor exchangeable, except at the BUSIT’s sole discretion.
If the prize winner(s) does not accept the prize, the prize will be forfeited, and BUSIT reserves the right to determine a new winner.
BUSIT is not liable for any prize that may be lost, stolen, forged, damaged, or tampered with in any way after it leaves our possession.
BUSIT’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The participant acknowledges that the World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with any retail service provider. The associated brands included in the prizes have no official affiliation with Waikato Regional Council or any business partners.
Use of personal information and consent to publicity
By entering the World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion, the Participant agrees that the Promotor may use the Participant’s personal information:
— to carry out the World Car Free Day 2024 Promotion, including determining and notifying the winner(s);
— to provide the prize to the winner, including, where required, disclosing that information to the supplier or sponsor of the prize and/or regulatory authorities; and
— for marketing, promotional, publicity, research, and profiling purposes.
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees their first name and/or photograph being used for such publicity purposes as reasonably determined by BUSIT, including publication on the BUSIT website and/or social media accounts. The winner’s parents/guardian agrees to make themselves reasonably available for this purpose, without compensation.
All personal information will be collected and stored in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Waikato Regional Council ‘Privacy of your information’ statement located here.
Definitions
Offensive content
Any content that refers to indecency or obscenity or uses obscene or distasteful language; is likely to cause widespread or serious offence to any members of the public on account of the nature of the product or service being advertised, the wording or design of the content or by way of inference; depicts men, women or children in a sexual manner or displays nude or semi-nude figures in an overtly sexual context; relates to the sex industry including the provision of related products and services; depicts direct or immediate violence to anyone shown in the content. i.e. inclusion of assault rifle gun images or; condones or provokes anti-social behaviour, extremist religious or political views.
