The 38 Wairakei to Taupō route is part of the Connect2Taupō service. It travels between Wairakei and Taupō on weekdays.

This service launched on Monday 31 October 2022 to replace the Taupō North route. It runs to one timetable on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and to another timetable on Tuesday and Friday.
