CCTV on board

Most of our buses across the network have closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) on board. 

Purpose

The purpose of CCTV on public transport is to ensure the safety of passengers, employees and general public. The cameras and systems may be used for one or more of the following purposes:

  • To help with staff and public safety;
  • To improve security and discourage criminal activity on public transport;
  • To record information that could be used to investigate crime, health and safety situation and incidents involving persons; and
  • To provide information to schools in regards to student behaviour on public transport.

CCTV Signage

Signage is clearly displayed on board buses that have CCTV operating.
