New accessibility concession to launch in 2019
Waikato will be the first region in New Zealand to provide free travel on its public buses for people of all ages who have a temporary or permanent impairment that results in a transport disability. The 100% accessibility concession will come into effect in mid-2019. The decision by our Waikato Regional Council strategy and policy committee was applauded by an audience of more than 10 people representing the disability community.
