Fare changes effective 1 January, 2014
Waikato Regional Council has decided against an across-the-board fare annual increase on its bus services. However, prices will rise on three regional services in the New Year.
The fare rises will be effective from 1 January 2014 for people travelling on the Northern Connector and Pukekohe services outside the Hamilton city boundary, and the Taupo Connector.
In Hamilton, the cost will be reduced for a City Explorer ticket, when purchased with a BUSIT card. An adult City Explorer fare will drop from $7.35 to $6.30, while a child’s fare will drop from $5.25 to $4.50. The price drop means it will be cheaper to purchase a City Explorer on the BUSIT card if you’re planning to do three or more trips a day.
